Rowan and Cassandra

This is from Christmas, 2000. They are playing with one of those silly singing trout plaques that my mother has. I think this is one of my absolute favorite photos of the two of them.Oh, and the background contains Rowan's handprints and Cassandra's footprints from Spring 2000.

Pictures!

Finally!!! The picture pages are being updated. Check out Cassandra's, as those are where the first updates are happening.

Rowan

No desk is complete without some photos? There's also a whole collage of pictures from her first birthday and, of course,  Christmas. Plus some fun snapshots.

Cassandra

Pictures of Cassie have started popping up alongside those of Rowan. You can see photos from her second birthday here.

Fun and Informational Kids Links

The sites listed below are all interactive, informative or both. I don't visit sites that are nothing but one big commercial advertisement more than once, so you won't find any of those places here!

These plants that might prove poisonous to your baby or pet. If you know of something that should be added to the list, please send me some email to the address below.

Nick Jr. currently rules the house in the mornings, with Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer and now Bob the Builder - oh, and Little Bill by Bill Cosby. They're all wonderful shows and the website has tons of great stuff as well, including coloring pages and recipes you can make with your kids. Both girls love to help in the kitchen, and boy can Cassie stir! This is by far my favorite preschooler website!

Sesame Street has tons of coloring pages covering the alphabet, numbers, street signs, shapes, safety, you name it! They also have some fun activities and crafts, although I don't think they're as strong in that area as several of the other sites listed here.

Family Fun defies description. This is the website of the popular crafts and activities magazine, containing I think every craft, project, or article they've every written, plus. It's got a pretty versital search engine for the site, just to make it easier to find things. And trust me, it's needed.

Crayola Creativity Central has crafts projects, lesson plan-style crafts projects, coloring pages - including educational ones, information on their products, a section on stain removal for their products, and of course a source to by all of the Crayola products. It's got a lot of wonderful ideas.

Fisher Price. I loved their toys as a child and I still think they're neat. Rowan likes playing with her safari and farm sets. This site lets you check out their products - toys and all - as well as games for the kids, and the occassional sweepstakes. There's also a newsletter you can sign up for.

Sears Portrait Studios. These folks take great portraits and their nice to work with at least in our area. Furthermore, this site isn't just about getting your picture taken. There are tons of fun kids activities including pages to print a color, stories that include yoru child, and games to play.

How about an astrological chart done with your baby in mind? If you'd like more information, check out MoonSummer ProductionsTM. Hey, sometimes a little extra insight can really help. She did a rather enlightening chart for Rowan to maybe help me get some additional insight into personality and save some of the shreds of my sanity. At the very least you'll have a fun and interesting keepsake for baby.

f you're trying to raise a child within an alternative religion, or maybe just with an extraordinary open mind, Pagan Parenting Page contains lots of helpful info, as well as links to parenting and birth information pages, and information on raising a pagan child. Check out Cauldrons and Broomsticks  for Meaghan's Stories, written by Kat Dyer. They're wonderful children's stories.
