I like to use color correspondences for almost anything, including candles, fabrics, and stones. If you want to try using a color chart, instead of the normal stone correspondence chart, simply pick the color for the attribute you want represented and then choose a stone of that color. It's that simple.
BLACK: the Universe, the stars; wisdom; negativity, banishing evil, binding, repelling negativity and evil; comfort, security, protection; purification; death, remembrance of the dead; transformation.
BLUE: protection; trust, honor, loyalty; inspiration; wisdom; tranquility, balance, peace, harmony; patience; good health; understanding; happiness; luck; psychic awareness and dreams, astral projection; karma; Light blue represents the East, while dark blue represents the West; representative of Air or Water.
BROWN: animals and animal healing; the soil of the earth; fertility; concentration; telepathy; finding lost objects; common sense
GOLD: astral projection; divination; inspiration; protection; courage, power, wealth; persuasion, charm, confidence; greed, the Sun, God energy.
GREEN: fertility, abundance, prosperity; good luck; healing, life, rejuvenation, revitalization; purification; practical creativity, especially with the hands; the Earth, Nature; represents the West, deep green represents the North.
ORANGE: ambition, career matters; legal matters; warmth; courage; energy; control; health, vitality; intellectual pursuits.
PINK: love, affection, romance; beauty; happiness, joy; friendship; compassion, gentleness; relaxation; healing; representative of the South.
PURPLE: wealth; creativity, inspiration; spirituality, religion; astral projection, psychic power; idealism; power; magical power; passion; spirit; long range success; dreaming, meditation; karma balancing; past life exploration; demanding.
RED: health, energy, strength; courage; sexuality, lust, passion; action; life and death; blood; birth; fertility; revenge; vitality; aggression; representative of Fire; crimson represents the South and deep reds, the North.
SILVER: clairvoyance, divination; inspiration; astral projection, psychic awareness and dreams; exorcism, expelling negativity; things obscured; the Moon, Goddess energy.

YELLOW: confidence, courage; charm, persuasion, eloquence; astral projection, divination, magical power, psychic awareness; happiness; travel; powers and endeavors of the mind, comprehension, intelligence; the imagination, creative energy; joy; power; stimulations or disruptions; warmth, the Sun, God energy; can represent the East or South.
